Tip: If you are in Durlach and want to ask for directions, just ask for the big supermarket (“Einkaufszentrum”) Scheck-In which is located directly next to the gym.
BEWARE: ROAD WORKS!
“Yay, christmas!” seems to have been a thought of our city also. So they went ahead and made up lots of road works just for us, especially on the tram network. Important for the convention: There is no tram service between Tullastr (stop at Tollhaus) and Durlach! However, a bus shuttle serves as a replacement (line 11). All information is available at the KVV website as text and as a pdf.
By car:
Take the exit Karlsruhe Durlach and follow the Durlacher Allee towards Durlach. After the big crossroads, take the first right (Gritznerstraße) and the following left (Kanzlerstraße). Follow this street until it gets renamed to “Gärtnerstraße” and then to “Weiherstraße”. On the left hand you first pass the KJH and then at the end of the street to the left you find the Weiherhofhalle.
By train (Station Durlach):
Disembark at “Bahnhof Karlsruhe Durlach”. Then either continue by foot (~ 1,3 km): Follow the “Durlacher Allee” to the big crossroads and then take the “Pfinztalstraße” (along the tram tracks). After ~800 m turn right into the “Marstallstraße”. You’ll see the Weiherhofhalle (main gym) on the right side after about 300m. Or take the der tram 1(Bus 11) which also drives along the “Pfinztalstraße”. Get off at “Durlacher Schlossplatz” and take the “Marstallstraße” as above.
By train (Hauptbahnhof):
Due to road works (see above), the most convenient route is to take a regional train to “Bahnhof Durlach”. Then continue as above.
The route through town is as follows: Take the S4 / S41 – get of at “Tullastr” – walk round the corner – take the bus 11 to “Durlach Schlossplatz”.
